Massage therapy and chiropractic care both offer benefits...
Massage therapy treats muscle and soft tissue on elongating and broadening muscle fibers so blood can flow and heal. It can take place in a variety of settings, from a doctor's office to a spa to the finish line of a marathon.
Chiropractic care involves a diagnosis and treatment that usually includes the loosening of deep muscle tissue and adjustment of the spine.
Massage therapy is often a part of a long-term chiropractic treatment plan that uses various tools and technologies
Types of massage
Deep Tissue: slow strokes and firm pressure into muscles and connective tissues releases chronic aches and pains.
Myofascial Release: a form of massage involving manipulation and stretching of the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds the muscles of the body. Long, gentle sliding and stretching strokes are used to release muscle tension by gently releasing restrictions in the connective tissue layer to rebalance the body.
Aromatherapy: blends essential oils and massage to focus on mental, physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
Chair: massage uses an ergonomically designed chair and specific protocol to release chronic tension. Client usually remains fully clothed.
CranioSacral: slight manipulation of the head and bottom of the spine. Often used for headaches, whiplash, back pain, jaw, eye and ear problems.
Reflexology: thumb pressure on specific points of the feet and hands helps improve circulation and promote relaxation in other parts of body.
Rolfing: a specific, deep muscular manipulation and massage technique to relieve body and emotional tension.
Shiatsu: a Japanese pressure-point massage technique applied to specific points along the body’s acupuncture meridians.
Sports: different techniques used to prevent athletic injury, improve flexibility and improve performance.
Stone: hot or cold smooth stones are placed on body’s energy points, called Chakras or meridians.
Swedish: kneading, stroking and friction techniques and oil to promote relaxation, increase circulation and reduce stress.
